Psalm 90:  A Psalm from a Leader — Moses

The need is real…to pull away and put ourselves in HIS presence

The Psalms were written by Leaders.  Un-named Worship Leaders;  David, the great King;  Solomon;  Moses;  and even a few by Ezra.

J Morris Smith had massive influence on my life during those early years of development, as I sought to mature and develop as a Servant-Leader.

J Morris once pointed out to me that the Word of God offers to all people…truth, encouragement, correction, even rebuke.  But that which the Word offers it especially offers to Leaders.  The truth that is offered to all is even more true to leaders.  The correction that is offered to all is even more corrective for leaders.  etc.

And why is this true……. Because we who are called to lead organizations, church communities, schools, Mission bases………must be the first to embrace His Word;  yield to it that we might model it to those whom we serve.

And so….it is good for us to take this time to pull away from the busyness of our responsibilities, challenges, and plans to allow HIM to wash over us by HIS Word.

For 40 years Moses led a people that seemed committed to squander their lives away.  Murmuring…challenging…complaining…and second guessing.

We must never give in to their double-minded.  We must never lack of grace and love for them.  We must be done entertaining how much better things would be if “they” weren’t so “hard-headed.”

We must Lead!

And so…..we will present ourselves first and foremost…to HIM!

Let us gain wisdom

Let us be enveloped by HIS beauty

Let us look to HIM…that our works would be established

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom

And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us

And establish the works of our hands
